"Expedition" at Rochester Contemporary

Avalanche Collective presented a sculptural installation, photographic portraits and a handwritten journal entry under the guise of a polar expedition for Rochester Contemporary's show "State of the City", curated by Bleu Cease. Included in the installation was a quarter-ton of crystal salt, a makeshift tent made of wooden planks, and manilla ropes adorned with screenprinted bandannas. A TV monitor placed inside the tent displayed the group's expedition through an abandoned and overgrown parking lot in Upstate NY.

Avalanche Returning

After spending much of the past year focusing on various solo projects, Avalanche Collective has returned with a performative installation at this year's Artists and Models affair in Buffalo. Titled "Unhinged", the event took place in the massive NY Central Terminal. Documentation to come. We are currently preparing for a group show at Rochester Contemporary Art Center titled "State of the City".
